I guess rumor is just a premature fact nowadays in the betting world. First Poker Stars and numerous other big name Poker Sites were seized by the Feds last month, and now word comes that my main site sponsor in terms of me referring clients to a legit book, is NOT accepting any new US Clients.

The Feds like to scare the hell out of everyone now and then, and they have done enough damage to these poker sites that it is now affecting the offshore book world. It is not the gambling aspect that has the Feds worked up, it is the payment and money transfers back and forth. Payment processors are worried about federal indictments for money laundering and wire fruad. It is a gray area to most, but the US Justice deapartment has other ideas of what that grey area is apparently.

What does this mean to YOU as the player? Well unless you do not claim your winnings and or income from an offshore enitity or gaming winnings even at a casino on your tax return, it means nothing other than 1 outlet AS OF NOW is gone for sports wagering online. Bet US is a good book and they have elected foriegn markets over the US in light of recent events to pursue their business.

I have spoken to an affiliate manager and friend of mine for over 8 years who works at Bet US, and there is no need to panic. I would contact your main representative and discuss your options. If you clear an account out, then by all means on your income tax return in 2011, claim your winnings, there is a spot on the tax return forms for it.

I have no vested interest in Bet US, I take a referral fee for clients and decline other options. It is no different than YOU getting a $50 referral fee parked into your account for referring a friend. I am contacting OSGA (Offshore Gaming Association), whom I know the owner, to discuss the BEST possible option for my site and clients who come here in terms of a direction as a new book and what terms and conditions the market is bearing that is on the up and up and the best route for an outlet to all. I will then communicate through a blog and in this article section my finidings.

Your civil liberties are at stake and up for grabs. I would contact state and federal lawmakers and express your displeasure. While the US Government backs state lotteries because they get a 45% cut of millions of dollars weekly, which is the biggest sucker bet in the universe, apparently putting $50 on the Lakers is a federal crime when you are betting it at a place in a foriegn country which is licensed and regulated to take that wager. Say What? Oh yeah, Thats the deal ladies and gents.
