Here are SU and ATS results for each conference from NCAA Week 1 and 2, These results will help us over the early part of the season during out-of-conference matchups, and will be revisited at bowl season to gauge conference strength… Results of all conference matchups and matchups with 1AA (Sorry, that what I’ll always call ‘em!) competition are not included, but it has been noted if a conference has any losses to 1AA teams. ACC: 11-8 SU/ 5-14 ATS- 2 outright favorite losses, 1 outright dog win Big 12 North: 10-5 SU/ 9-6 ATS 1 outright favorite loss, 1 outright dog win, 1 loss to 1AA Big 12 South: 13-3 SU/9-7 ATS 1 outright favorite loss Big East: 12-5 SU/10-7 ATS 2 outright underdog wins, 1 outright favorite loss Big Ten: 20-6 SU/13-13 ATS 1 outright underdog win, 5 outright favorite losses, 1 loss to 1AA Conf USA: 6-16 SU/ 11-11 ATS 3 outright dog wins, 2 losses to 1AA MAC East: 4-9 SU/ 11-4 ATS 2 outright dog wins MAC West: 1-9 SU/1-9 ATS 1 outright favorite loss, 1 outright dog win Mt. West: 9-11 SU/ 10-10 ATS 4 outright dog wins, 1 outright favorite loss PAC 10: 17-7 SU/14-10 ATS 1 outright dog win, 3 outright fav. loss SEC East: 6-1 SU/5-2 ATS 1 outright dog win SEC West: 6-2 SU/3-5 ATS 1 outright favorite loss Sun Belt: : 3-16 SU/ 11-8 ATS 2 outright dog wins WAC: 2-16 SU/ 9-9 ATS 1 outright favorite loss Note the Sun Belt’s improvement this season, as the upsets by FAU and Troy this past weekend were the 6th and 7th against BCS foes since the conference went Division 1 in 2001. Also pay attention to the discrepenncies between Mac East and West, the weakness of the ACC, the SU favorite losses of the Big 10, and the giant-killing Mountain West conference.
