For the past few years, the AFC has dominated NFL football betting. Why not? In head to head competition the AFC almost always beats the NFC. Winning teams usually provide online betting profits. Hence, the AFC was the power conference, while the NFC was made up of a bunch of teams that could conceivably make the playoffs but couldn’t win the Super Bowl. Then, of course, the New York Giants beat the mighty New England Patriots in last season’s Super Bowl and everybody started to say…well, they started to say that the AFC was still where the best online betting teams resided. Not after the first weekend in the NFL Season. This season is going to be all about the NFC. Why? Because there are no less than seven teams that I watched this past Sunday that could make it to the Super Bowl and win it. One of those better teams isn’t the Atlanta Falcons. Matt Ryan is the truth, but he’s about a year away from being the answer. He’s going to stumble along his way to stardom here and there. I love the kid, but I’m not ready to Christen him the next coming of Peyton Manning just yet. Seven is almost half of the teams in the entire conference. If injuries don’t hit any of these teams, then expect a mad scramble to the playoffs. All seven teams could provide online wagering overlay bets in the future. So keep all seven in mind when planning your online bets. Oh, and not a single one of the seven is from the NFC West Conference. That’s a terrible conference. Let’s get to the Serious Seven! Dallas Cowboys - - I wasn’t a big fan of Big D at the beginning of the season, but after watching them stomp all over the Cleveland Browns, a hot pick in the off season to win the NFC North, I have to say that Big D is definitely ready to make it to a Super Bowl. I still believe that Mrs. Jessica Simpson will do something stupid to piss somebody off (81 anybody?) and that the Cowboys will implode, but at this point I have to put them at the top. They covered a big online betting spread on the road against a quality team. That’s enough for me. Philadelphia Eagles - - The defense was superb, Donovan McNabb looked like the MVP of the league, and Brian Westbrook ran all over the place. There was nothing about the Eagles’ performance versus the St. Louis Rams that I can knock. Nothing. Every single play called was the right play. Every single pass that Donovan made was the right pass. Every single…well, you get the idea. What’s more impressive about this team is that three different wide receivers chalked up over a 100 yards receiving in this game. And some NFL betting fans thought Donovan would suffer because of his lack of weapons! Nope. This team shattered the spread. As long as Donovan stays healthy, this team will be there in the end. New Orleans Saints - - The Saints beat a rival at home after having to practice in Indianapolis. That says a lot about this team. Not only that, but the defense was actually very, very good. They took it to Jeff Garcia all game. That’s the reason the Saints won this game. With Reggie Bush suddenly discovering what it means to be an NFL football player, and Drew Brees being his usual brilliant self, the offense is loaded and ready.
