With the conclusion of the first full Saturday of NCAAF action one can certainly reflect on the happenings and upsets but that most always lends itself to 20/20 hindsight. Although looking back can certainly help us for our future wagers as we factor in what happened but it is only an indicator at this point in the season. Instead of taking that track I would like to switch gears and look at opportunites on the Total front as there are some good opportunities that are in front of us. Totals, and I'm being obvious here, is all about scoring on both offense and defense. So I thought it was important to take a look at some of the tops schools in scoring on both offense and defense combined and see if there was any type of correlation to them going over the total consistently. But is this reall an angle that produced good profits? Highest Combined Points per Game with Offense and Defense Combined Navy (75.7), Tulsa (74.5), Rice (74.3), Toledo (72.1), Central Michigan (71.7), Nebraska (71.3), Texas El Paso (70.7), North Texas (69.9), Hawaii (68.9), SMU, Florida (68.0). Most Profitable Teams Betting the Over Rice (10-1), Central Michigan (10-3), Florida (9-3), South Florida, Kansas St, Ohio University (8-3), LSU(10-4), Florida Atlantic, Michigan St, Texas, Washington (9-4), Arkansas, Illinois, Navy (8-4). When looking at the correlations we have 14 Div IA schools who have consistently gone over the total but only 4 of those (Rice, Central Michigan, Navy, and Florida) actually ranked at the top in total points per game.
