U.S. Open Wagering Opportunities Evan Altemus After looking over the various proposition wagers available for the U.S. Open this weekend, there are a number of significant opportunities worth taking a look at. First and foremost, Tiger Woods is overvalued in every wager possibility involving him. He is coming off of surgery to his left knee. Woods hasn’t played competitively in about two months, which puts him at a huge disadvantage to the rest of the field. I look for every aspect of his game to suffer from the long layoff. The best opportunity to take advantage is earlier in the tournament, as this will be when Woods will play the worst. The following proposition bets are worth taking a look at: 1st Round Match-up: Phil Mickelson vs Tiger Woods (Phil Mickelson +120) This prop has tremendous value. Phil is really excited to play the U.S. Open in his hometown, especially since he is playing some of the best golf of his career right now. He will be playing with Tiger tomorrow, and I expect him to be determined to shine in front of his family and national television. There are other props to take advantage of Tiger Woods long layoff and Phil’s extra motivation and recent play. Overall Match-up: Phil Mickelson vs Tiger Woods (Phil Mickelson +160) Tiger Woods - Overall Finishing Position After Four Rounds (OVER 3.5 -130) Phil Mickelson – Overall Finishing Position After Four Rounds (UNDER 9.5 -130) Other proposition wagers worth taking a look at: Overall Match-up – Sean O’Hair vs Brandt Snedeker (Brandt Snedeker -115) Colin Montgomerie – Will He Make the Cut (No -115) Low Single Round Score By Any Golfer (UNDER 66.5 -135)
